Built by nurses who passed the exam you’re about to take.

Testavia exists because the night before the NCLEX, there wasn’t a single prep platform that felt like it was written by someone who’d actually sat the test. So we built one.

The origin

The night the new NCLEX dropped, we started over.

  1. 2023

    April

    Act 01 / 03

The exam everyone studied for stopped existing.

NCSBN replaced the NCLEX with the Next Generation NCLEX — case-based items, bowtie matrices, drag-and-drop sequences, an entirely new clinical-judgment scoring model. Every legacy provider patched. Bolted a new chapter on. Called it done.

  2. 2023

    May → July

    Act 02 / 03

Students kept failing on the wrong item types.

The nurses who built Testavia were precepting new grads on the floor at the time. We watched bright students sit a test they hadn’t actually prepared for, because the prep banks they’d paid for were drilling them on a 2014 exam. The breaking point: a colleague’s friend failed a second time on a bow-tie item she’d never once seen modeled in her prep.

  3. 2026

    August 2023 → today

    Act 03 / 03

So we rebuilt the question bank from scratch.

Every item authored by a currently-licensed US RN. Every clinical-judgment scenario field-tested against a live student cohort before it ships. Three years later, 120,000+ first-try passes and we’re still the only major prep platform that didn’t retrofit old content.

A letter from the team

We didn’t set out to build a company. We set out to fix a test-prep problem.

Every nurse on this team has been the person standing in a quiet room the night before an exam, scrolling a question bank, wondering if any of it would actually look like what we’d see in the morning. For too many of us, the answer was no.

So Testavia is the platform we wish we’d had. Written by nurses, for nurses. Kept current by people who still pick up shifts — and held to one number: the percentage of our students who pass on the first attempt.

If we ever stop deserving your trust, the refund policy is on the homepage. We mean it.

Thank you for letting us be part of your test day. We’ll see you on the other side.

Watch · 2 min 47 sec

Inside the pipeline, in three minutes.

The fastest way to understand how a question goes from a nurse’s clinical memory to your screen. No marketing fluff — just the actual workflow.

Methodology · The pipeline

How a Testavia question goes from blank page to your screen.

Most prep companies will not tell you who wrote their items. Here’s ours, end to end.

  1. Step 01

    Draft

A practicing RN writes the item against the current NCSBN test plan.

  2. Step 02

    Clinical review

A specialty-board-certified clinician audits accuracy, distractors, rationale.

  3. Step 03

    NGN format edit

Editor maps to the right item type — bowtie, case study, drop-down rationale.

  4. Step 04

    Field test

Every item runs past a live 200-student cohort before it ships. Items that score below a 0.20 discrimination index get dropped, not patched — so a question only stays in the bank if it actually separates students who know the material from students who don’t.

How we work

Four principles that decide every product call.

  • Pass rate is the only metric.

Not enrollments. Not minutes-in-app. Not testimonials. The single number we tune against is what percentage of our students pass on their first attempt.

  • Written by people who took the exam.

Every question authored or audited by a practicing US RN. We don’t license third-party banks.

  • Rebuilt for the new NGN.

When NCSBN released the Next Generation NCLEX in 2023, we rewrote the bank from scratch. Most providers retrofitted ten-year-old content.

  • The guarantee is the product.

Pass-first or full refund on qualifying plans. Eligibility conditions in plain English on every course page.

Built by US RNs, for every nursing exam.
